I’m surprised I only had two five-star reads in 2022:
Daughters of Smoke and Fire by Ava Homa and
Two Nights in Lisbon by Chris Pavone
I did re-read three books this year that were five-star reads for me in previous years. Happy to say they were very much deserving of five stars again. They are:
The Gift of Rain by Tan Twan Eng
The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa
The Dry by Jane Harper
Enjoyed the least:
We Were Dreamers: An Immigrant Superhero Origin Story by Simu Liu
Plenty: A Memoir of Food and Family by Hannah Howard
Murder at Black Oaks by Phillip Margolin
Daughters of Smoke and Fire by Ava Homa and
Two Nights in Lisbon by Chris Pavone

That's really interesting Lilisa, as I was the same in 2022 - only a few new 5★ reads, but quite a lot of 5★ re-reads (granted, the reason I went back to them was because I enjoyed them so much the first time!).
So my favourites were:
The First Woman (Uganda)
The Girl with the Louding Voice (Nigeria)
A Woman in Berlin (Germany)
I also loved these ones that didn't qualify for my ATW list:
The Night Ship (Abrolhos Islands, Australia)
Lessons (England/Germany)
And my heart-swelling re-reads included:
Still Life (Italy - the audio was even better than print)
Questions of Travel (Australia, Sri Lanka, Italy, England and more)
My least favourites were:
Lyrics Alley (Sudan)
Sea Fever (Kazakhstan)
(But they were ok for me, and I would certainly try both authors again.)
