I was convinced that Jules would eventually find Peggy and rescue her. I was actually surprised that she was dead.

I liked Ric and Annie, even though they were a little childish. I liked how Annie came through at the right moments. She has good instincts with a lot of potential. I hope we see these two again too.
Like Robin, I didn't expect to find Peggy dead. I was a little disappointed, but it didn't ruin the story for me.

Moreover, all 4 main characters are very appealing. I have been rooting for Robin and Jules ever since Jane and Cosmo's book, and Ric and Annie are a perfect match for each other. My only minor nitpick is Ric and Annie's bickering got old after a while, and I'm glad they came to their senses.
Regarding Peggy's death - I disliked her intensely due to her truly abhorrent treatment of Jules. It is sad that she died in the line of duty, but it did not bother me overly much.
I must admit I didn’t remember much about this story this second go around and that was a great thing, especially on audio. I had a small recollection that I wasn’t crazy about Annie so it was wonderful to see her so differently this time. I loved her character, though like the rest of you, wearied of all that bickering with Ric. It got old.
But it was Jules and Robin for the romantic win! I loved their rediscovery of each other. But I thought the most powerful aspect was Robin’s journey to acknowledge his alcoholism. It was a realistic depiction of what most families experience with someone dear who doesn’t see what they see.
