Mona is a wizard. But her power is limited to baking. She can stop bread from burning, or make gingerbread men dance, and that's about it. Not a significant power in her world where the head of the army can command lightning.

A fun read. It's not listed as the first book in a series, but the author leaves one thread untied at the end to allow for a sequel or even a full series.
