This list doesn't surprise me too much. Some of the top books were used for discussion in local book clubs this year, like The Four Winds and The Last Thing He Told Me.

An interesting snapshot of what most people were reading in 2022 at our libraries.

What I am surprised at is that there aren't more Colleen Hoover books on this list, since it seemed like her books were flying off the shelves.

My guess on the Colleen Hoover books is because there are a lot of copies in the system. Some books with less copies make the cutoff for the stat list. I wouldn't be surprised if she is on next years list though considering Four Winds was released last year and was more of a powerhouse then.

An example of the check outs would be if a new more obscure Patterson book had only about 14 entries in our system with our branches only having about 3 or 5. With a popular release of his then we could have 60 items in the system.

The 14 entries would have checkouts more consolidated on specific copies which would have made my original data list. The one with more copies would be spread and multiple copies would not have enough check outs to make the list where I could combine their entry.

There were a couple of items that surprisingly didn't quite make the list. I had to find a spot to cut off check outs otherwise the list would have been 300+ with items with similar check outs.
