In September/October 2023 we will be reading literature from Austria.

Titles for all three categories (classic, contemporary and short story/essay) can be nominated in this thread.

Feel free to discuss availability here as well, i.e. let us know beforehand if a nominated title is unavailable for you before we put up the polls. The polls will be set up in the middle of August.

I have just discovered that the above link is not available any more - what a pity!!
Nevertheless, I would like to remind everyone that books from Austria for our group reads in Sep/Oct can already be nominated in this thread :)
BTW: I am reading Dunkelblum, a novel by Eva Menasse which so far is quite good!

Nice! She is at a literature festival near me soon, so I'm planning to read Lässliche Todsünden (which is translated into Danish)

Great, I take that as a nomination :))

So far I have piled up some titles by Joseph Roth as one of the great writers born into the Austria-Hungarian Empire and thus falling into the category of classic literature and some titles are also compilations of short stories.
