First, in the previous ten years I read a total of 10-15 books over all those years. This year, I started reading again like I did in middle school, quite a while ago…I never read this many books in a year…approaching 60.

The books by Leisha Kelly got me going, I read every one of her books which all but one are the same family through decades. 9 books

If I think about books that stood out when people ask, “like what do you read”, I talk about the above, and The Daughters Walk.

As I look through my list The Prayer Box, The Unmaking of June Farrow, The Kitchen Front, Sister of my Heart, and No Ocean Too Wide… these trigger such a positive experience.

Missy - so glad you have found your love or reading again. BTW where do you live in Texas? My husband and I lived in the Houston area for 35 years, but moved to Colorado after we retired to be close to our son and his family.

I had quite a few favourite books this year (21 books rated 5 stars). See message 7 above.

At the end of the year, my favourite book of the whole year, is still a book I read in January!

That's great, Katrina! I love it when you set a high bar early in the year. And that book was spectacular.

Now that I'm almost finished my 2023 reading (and the last 2 books to finish won't be 5 star favourites), I can confidently say that my favourite book I read this year was Heirlooms .
