I know nonfiction isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I find history and current events nonfiction especially interesting!
I must confess that it is hard for me to start nonfiction books. The subject must entice me or word of mouth says that the author of biographies or humor is engaging to read.

Understandable! Everyone has different reading tastes.

Some patrons might groan at the thought of reading nonfiction books (including me), but once you start them you cannot put them down!
Think of how popular and entertaining documentary series are on streaming services. These types of books are in the same vein (and some of those same documentary series are based on books like these).
For 2022, a lot our nonfiction books had a similar amount of check-outs, so here are the top 10 most checked-out nonfiction books by our patrons at all our county locations:
1. Atlas of the heart : mapping meaningful connection and the language of human experience / Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW.
2. ER nurses : true stories from America's greatest unsung heroes / James Patterson and Matt Eversmann with Chris Mooney.
3. Guinness world records.
4. The Midwest survival guide : how we talk, love, work, drink, and eat . . . everything with ranch / Charlie Berens.
5. Broken horses : a memoir / Brandi Carlile.
6. Fodor's bucket list USA / Amy Cavanaugh, Andrew Collins, Debbie Harmsen, Cameron Roberts, Mark Sullivan, Kyle Wagner, Carson Walker, Jillian Wilson.
7. All about me : my remarkable life in show business / Mel Brooks.
8. Big boards for families : healthy, wholesome charcuterie boards and food spread recipes that bring everyone around the table / Sandy Coughlin, creator of The Reluctant Entertainer.
9. Comedy comedy comedy drama : a memoir / Bob Odenkirk.
10. Sandy Hook : an American tragedy and the battle for truth / Elizabeth Williamson.
