Remember: when it comes time to read The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, all books are read the same way - one page at a time. If interested, please do not let the length deter you!

If I like it, I'll move on to my freebie Kindle of A Daughter of the Middle Border
.

I read it years ago. Decades ago. I’m up for a re read. I still have the second hand copy that I received when I was in my late teens. Interesting to think about it now actually. I was in my first “real” apartment and an elderly German man with a thick accent was my neighbor. He collected books about WW2 and I was friendly with him. After he died a woman (maybe his daughter) whom I had met a few times, gave me a box of his books.

I think one of my favorite non-fiction books ever would be more appropriate:

In the Kingdom of Ice: The Grand and Terrible Polar Voyage of the USS Jeannette

Yikes! I think I'll read that in July.

I definitely will be joining you in December as My Several Worlds is one of my favorite! Plus this year Ivwant to read The Good Earth Trilogy: The Good Earth, Sons, and A House Divided.

Melanie, you make an excellent point. Most members experience winter weather Nov-Feb or March. I'm sure many others would also like to read a book set on a nice, warm island during the cold months. I'll keep that in mind for future planning.
I remember in 2001 when Tropical Storm Allison hit Louisiana, I read a trilogy set on the beach. Beautiful weather in the books. That was a great experience during our downpours and streets flooding.

Looks like a good selection! The only one I’ve read is Killers of the Flower Moon and I highly recommend it! This was a case and a very sad part of US history that I was unfamiliar with. The two I hope to read are A Son of a Middle Border and In the Garden of the Beasts. I’ve been interested in reading The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich for a long time but won’t get to it this year. I’m definitely interested to see what group members have to say about it.
