===========================================

NOTE - Given the length of this challenge, and Goodreads' character limit within one post, I'd strongly recommend you reserve TWO spaces right away.

Unless a variation is specified above, words must match exactly, with the following exceptions: I will accept a plural/singular version, or differences in spelling between British and American English (e.g. honor or honour). But those are the ONLY deviations allowed. So if you are looking for "vivid" - I will NOT allow "vividly."

All books used must be a minimum of 100 pages long - Page length determined by HARDCOVER 1st edition. If there is no Hardcover, then the most popular paperback governs page #.

You may read in any format - text, audio or e-book. If using audio or e-book I suggest using Amazon.com's "look inside" feature to get a page number for your quote.

You MUST finish the book before you can claim credit for finding the word/phrase.

EXAMPLE of a successful post:
chaperone - Longbourn ✔ – 06Jan22 - pg 288 - "…suitable chaperones for unmarried…"

Have Fun!

Possessives do NOT count.
In this case the word specifies "rosemary (herb) ... so the reference must be to the herb. A Proper name of a person will not count.

However, if there were a proper name for any of the other words on the list they would count. Maybe someone has a child named "Saffron" or a pet named "Panther" etc ....

No ... the rules clearly state "Unless a variation is specified above, words must match exactly, with the following exceptions: I will accept a plural/singular version, or differences in spelling between British and American English (e.g. honor or honour). But those are the ONLY deviations allowed."

I'm sorry ... My mistake .... I clearly stated in the list that the word is
"rosemary (herb)"

So the reference MUST be to the herb rosemary. A proper name of a person will NOT count in this instance.

Sorry for the confusion. Glad I caught it early.

Robin P | 228 comments I found meagre in a book set largely in British Taiwan & this info

Meager and meagre are both English terms. Meager is predominantly used in American (US) English while meagre is predominantly used in British English (used in UK/AU/NZ) ( en-GB ).

I am assuming that is ok.

Patty | 247 comments Is it alright for a word to be spelled out by how the character pronounces the word. Example “De ally-gator don’ take him”

B U T ... I ask that you continue looking for the entire phrase until the end of this scavenger hunt period (i.e. 30Jun23) before claiming this.
