I really appreciated the focus put on the victims in this book because I think it’s important to remember those who suffered rather than the one inflicting the pain. These killers might be searching for recognition in their crimes so by looking at the victims insead, it takes away some of their satisfaction. I think this book is the best by far that takes away from the killer and rather focuses on the lives, families, and personalities of the victims and survivors. Because of this reason, I have purchased the other volumes of the series.

The cover of the book says “The Ones You’ve Never Heard Of” referring to the unsolved cases, and I believe this is mostly true which was surprising because I feel like a lot of books or documentaries claim this but they end up being common cases that are frequently talked about. The ones I knew about were the Texas Field killer (there’s a great documentary on Netflix if you are interested in knowing more), The 300 killer, and the “Zodiac killer” (not the one in California you are thinking of).

There were some formatting issues with the book, but I didn’t see that as a reason to drop a star.
