Hey! For those that celebrate gift giving, and not necessarily Christmas, at this time of year.

Now, I know we ALL got either a book or a few books, for the holiday season! So, what did you get???

I bought myself a copy of A Calendar of Wisdom: Daily Thoughts to Nourish the Soul which the family then gave to me.

But my husband surprised me for my birthday last week with Terry Pratchett: A Life With Footnotes: The Official Biography which I have already started.

No books yet, but a gift card to Barnes & Noble from my Special Olympics athletes. This is my last year as head coach & they surprised me with this and some other things at our Christmas dance. I love them so much!! One man kept coming up and hugging me and saying how much he would miss me. I reminded him I’m not going anywhere, just won’t be head coach. They sure helped make this a special year. Haven’t decided what I’ll get yet.

A pre-ordered copy of King: A Life - biography of MLK by one of my favorite authors, Jonathan Eig. Can’t wait to read it

I got The Last Chairlift by John Irving and Det tredje riket by Karl Ove Knausgård. The last one is the third installment of the Morning Star series. I don't think it has been translated yet.

I didn't get any books for Christmas this year but I did buy my wife The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times by Michelle Obama

Got an Amazon gift card. So far I bought:

I was delighted to receive Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow. I have been obsessed with Hamilton the musical and I am very much looking forward to reading the biography that inspired it.

I mostly read/buy kindle books now and get new hardback books from the library. I did give some books to my daughter who still reads mostly print books and likes to keep a library/shelves. I got her The House on the Cerulean Sea and The Ichabog.

I didn’t get any books for Christmas but bought 2 by Aldous Huxley, Antic Hay and After the Fireworks, at the used book store. I also bought a few for my grandson and plan to read one of them - James and the Giant Peach. And, I bought one new book today - The History of Science Fiction: A Graphic Novel Adventure.

I didn't get any books, I do have an Amazon voucher, but decided not to use it for the 2 books I bought in the daily deal yesterday!

That's a good idea - I normally hate people buying me books as I always get ones I'd never read them

Yes. Ever since the kids were little, we have shared a list of 5 things we really want. See, my husband bought me a stationary bike and a vacuum for christmas our first year married. He paid dearly for his errors, so to nix the confusion on what was an appropriate gift, I give him a list of appropriate gifts.

Now, he knows me so well.... Humph

Same! I think my family has a hard time figuring out what books I already have and/or have read! Still, I'm always a little sad when I don't get any.

So i bought myself because I am a huge P&P fan and this edition is beyond gorgeous and can't wait to read it!💗. My husband also ordered it for me 🤦🏻‍♀️ but saw mine arrive and cancelled his order 😂 it's so pretty!
