I've already read The Book Eaters by Sunyi Dean and The Girl and The Ghost by Hannah Alkaf so I can probably cross this of my list too

I read Nothing But Blackened Teeth by Cassandra Khaw and gave it 4 stars!

I admit, I had very high expectations for this one and luckily, I did find this book to be very good. It wasn’t quite as amazing as I was hoping but still, the author knows how to build atmosphere! You really feel like you’re in this haunted house in Japan with them and the yokai were awesome. At times I felt there was a bit of a disconnect between the modern, youthful dialogue and the wordy and flowery descriptions that sometimes felt like a thesaurus was on hand the entire time.

Overall, an awesome novella and Khaw is clearly an amazing writer.

Rin Chupeco is also a great one for YA horror! The Girl from the Well duology does a nice job with Japanese folklore.

My sis just happened to send me She Is A Haunting in my birthday package, so now I know what I'm reading! she knows me well :)

Severance by Ling Ma is fantastic, and a pretty quick read.

I read She Said Destroy. I don't know why it took me so long to get to this one, it's an incredible and unique collections of short stories. There will definitely be several rereads of this one.

Nadia Bulkin is so incredibly talented and also a genuinely awesome human.

I read Black Cranes: Tales of Unquiet Women which is a colaboration of female AAPI authors and highly recommend it.

I read She is a Haunting by Trang Thanh Tran. It's a great haunted house story about a Korean-American girl. I also highly recommend Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake. Blake also wrote two books set in the Buffy the Vampire slayer universe. I read In Every Generation earlier this year and really enjoyed it. Another ghost story that will appeal to anyone that is a fan of the TV show Supernatural. I also really liked The Night Has Teeth, a werewolf book by Kat Kruger.
