One of the best ways to start a new year right is to make resolutions because resolutions give you something to look forward to and focus on to improve your life.

Here are 23 resolutions that might make your reading better, too :)

Challenge duration: Jan. 1 - Dec. 31, 2023
No page limit.

Resolutions for 2023:
1. Get more organized at home and at work. Read a book with an MC that is a homebody or a workaholic.

2. Stop worrying too much about what others think or about other things you can't control. Read any book you want for this task :)

3. Start living in the moment. Read a book that was published in 2022 or 2023.

4. Establish a work-life balance and spend more time with family and other people who are important to you. Read a book that focuses on family or friends.

5. Lead a healthier lifestyle. Read a book where the MC struggles with an illness (this includes mental health).

6. Start standing up for yourself. Read a book with one person standing on the cover.

7. Become more optimistic. Read a book that begins with a letter in OPTIMISTIC (you can use or ignore the articles 'a', an', 'the').

8. Quit an unfulfilling job and change careers. Read a book where the MC quits their job, changes careers or has just changed careers.

9. Make yourself a priority this year. Read a book by an author that has your first or last initial. (If your name is Jemima Dorning, you could read a book by Jane Austen for the first initial, or a book by Arthur Conan Doyle for the last initial.)

10. Stop holding grudges, forgive others, and let go of the past. Read a book with MPG of Historical or Historical Fiction.

11. Try new things even if they seem scary. Read a book by an author that is new to you.

12. Learn when to say no or yes. Listen to an audio book.

13. Enroll in courses to gain more knowledge, learn new skills, or improve your old ones. Read a book where the MC goes to school or teaches at a school.

14. Start your own business. Read the first book of a new-to-you series.

15. Get out of your shell, make more friends, and find more ways to become more confident. Read a book in a genre that you normally don't read.

16. Travel more, even if that means going on short trips or touring places in the city you live in. Read a book where the MC travels.

17. Make better financial decisions. Read a book that you borrowed from a library or purchased at a reduced price.

18. Reduce social media usage. Read a book that Goodreads or a friend here on Goodreads recommends to you (feel free to ask me for a recommendation :)

19. Quit bad habits that have been holding you back. Read a book where you can only see the back of the person on the cover.

20. Let go of toxic friends and unhealthy relationships. Read a book where someone gets accidently or purposefully poisoned.

21. Read more books. Read a book from your TBR list.

22. Adopt a more sustainable lifestyle. Read a book from the Greenest Books Ever list. (Your book cover does not have to be the same as the one listed.)

23. Give back to the community through donations, volunteering, or doing random acts of kindness. Read a book set near where you live.

23 Resolutions for 2023
Challenge duration:
Jan. 1 - Dec. 31, 2023

Progress: 0 out of 23

One of the best ways to start a new year right is to make resolutions because resolutions give you something to look forward to and focus on to improve your life.

Here are 23 resolutions that might make your reading better, too :)

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 1987 comments I’ll see how many of those I can complete in five months. I know I can most likely use books I read earlier this year but that feels like cheating to me. I can always fall back on this option if I need to :-D

Completed 21/23 tasks - don't listen to audio books due to hearing aids and while I may or may not have fulfilled the recommended read one since I've read 231 books as of today just don't have the time to sift through all of them.

Thanks for another fun challenge!
