The subject of marriage equality was the central theme of this story. How well did Brockmann do in building the case for two same sex individuals having the right to marry? FYI, she deliberately chose a gay performer to narrate the story. For those listening to the book, did it make a difference?

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I thought Suzanne Brockmann did a fine job of showing that love is love. It doesn't matter what the sexual orientation of the two individuals are.

The narrator didn't make a difference to me. I noticed it was someone other than the usual narrators, but it didn't impact my enjoyment of the story.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1801 comments Love is love and everyone should have the same rights to marry regardless of sexual orientation.

I did not listen to the audiobook, so I cannot judge the narration or comment on the narrator.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree. It doesn't matter who you love. I think it matters that you love regardless of who the other person is. I listened to the audiobook, I didn't realize the narrator was gay. He did an excellent job and gave me all the feels.

Brockmann did an outstanding job of endearing these two characters to me and rooting for their happiness together. Who wouldn’t want these two married? She certainly made it difficult to want otherwise.

I listened to the story and there were times when I thought he was nailing Robin too well. When I learned the narrator was gay, it made sense because he was hitting specific notes in the right places. He nailed the humor.
