Cheryl (cherylllr) Until I became co-mod I didn't even know this folder existed. I've moved it up the page for better visibility, but rather than have separate welcome threads for each new member, I'm asking everyone to post a bit about themselves below.

That means new and existing members!

Cheryl (cherylllr) Hi!
I'm Cheryl. I've been reading science fiction for almost half a century. But, best as I can recall, the first Time Travel novel that made me keen on the subject was Replay.

I do prefer my TT to be SF. But I will also read the occasional historical fiction or romance novel if it has time travel in it.

Nancy (paper_addict) Hi!

I’m Nancy. I’ve been an avid reader my entire life (I still have books from first grade I ordered from Scholastics (anyone else remember the joy of seeing that monthly order form?) I don’t remember what my first time travel book was but time travel is one of my favorites. I also prefer SF to romance or historical fiction.

Rebecca | 3 comments Hi!
I'm Rebecca. I have been an avid reader for most of my life. My love of reading began with Nancy Drew and V.C. Andrews, then eventually Patricia Cornwell and Mary Higgins Clark. While I still
enjoy the occasional suspenseful crime or mystery I prefer a historical fiction or time travel. I usually will not pick up a romance as I just don't enjoy them at all.

I do not recall the first TT I read. I am currently reading Secrets of the Chocolate House, book 2 of The Found Things series by Paula Brackston.

Cheryl (cherylllr) I always wanted to buy books from the school catalog. I think ours was something different, Troll maybe? But my parents were too thrifty, and made it clear that the library was sufficient. I still feel mostly that way. But authors need to sell some copies!

Secrets of the Chocolate House is indeed TT, so I will investigate, thanks!

Rebecca | 3 comments Nancy the first book in the series is The Little Shop of Found Things, Secrets of the Chocolate House is book 2. Both are very good. Without giving too much away a woman in the 21st century has a gift for antique things telling her stories but she finds one thing that changes everything when she is transported to the 17th century.

Glynn | 342 comments Hi. I'm Glynn. I've been a member of this book club for quite a while but I've never been particularly active. I recently retired so now I have a *bit* more time to explore (although it's not true that when you retire you have a lot more time on your hands!)

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 124 comments No more time in retirement? That's what I've heard too - and it's probably true but at least you'll be able to choose what you spend your time on - apart from the endless chores of course! Happy reading.

Cheryl (cherylllr) It is true. Finally we get to do more of what we've been wanting to do, so we're still busy!

Steven Burt | 25 comments Ha Ha! I'm taking the slow approach. I've only retired on Fridays for now. Next year I'll retire on Mondays too, and the following year I'll retire completely. Due to a nice vacation in Egypt this year, I've only been retired on Fridays for two weeks so far. On both Fridays, I was in the office for an hour or two.

Cheryl (cherylllr) What an interesting approach; I think that's healthy & wise.

I've worked hard to become the least useful person in my company, so when I finally leave they'll be fine. And even when I'm there I mostly spend my time writing.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Ha!

Michael Poeltl (mikepoeltl) | 9 comments Hi Guys, I'm an author here on Goodreads, and have just launched my new Time Travel novel Cleo McCarthy Time Travel and Other Impossible Things . I'd love to garner a few votes to place the book on the Listopia page. Would be much appreciated! https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/2...

Chris Cosmain | 11 comments Hello All, I'm Chris.
I've been an avid reader since childhood. I started reading science fiction in my adolescent years. Asimov's Foundation series was among the first sci-fi works I read. Sci-fi has been my go-to genre ever since. I loved time travel movies since a young age but only stumbled upon time travel novels later on. I was "that person" who would sit for hours trying to work out why the time travel in the Back to Future movies made no sense, or try to untangle the complex series of TT events in Primer. I'm a longtime passive reader of Goodreads and have only very recently joined as a member.
