That said, there was a point where I was beginning to lose interest in the story as it just seemed like too much back and forth in the investigation with no progression.
It picked up though with the attack on Cady and I was hooked until the end.
I do, however, have a question about the tennis court clay found near Shannon's body. Was this ever explained? It's a bit of a plot hole.

Lauren, I don't know if the tennis court clay was ever explained.
I enjoyed the story, too, but wish she’d left a tiny bit more of clues for me to maybe figure something out on my own.

Yes, but how did it get there and near "Holly's" car? Neither Owen nor the real Holly had been near the tennis court the day Shannon was killed or before the break-in. Owen was there when he killed the contractor and Holly was there days/weeks before the murder.
