Summary

When Milwaukee police entered Jeffrey Dahmer's North 25th Street apartment in July 1991, they discovered that for some time this quiet, undemonstrative man had been living amidst the debris of an orgy of killing. A severed head lay in the refrigerator. A freezer contained two more heads and a human torso. Two skulls and a complete skeleton were found in a filing cabinet. A styrofoam box concealed two more skulls, and a large blue plastic drum was found to contain three further human torsos in various stages of decomposition. This is the story of the mass murderer, Jeffrey Dahmer.

This book is unavailable in my library so I won't be reading along.

Cátia | 601 comments Sorry to hear that, Taryn. It’s a controversial topic. I watched the series and documentary from Netflix last year, so I’m looking forward to read this one and to hear everyone’s opinions.

Gem, I’ll be reading the ebook version so if you need I can share it with you.

Lisa Sorey | 32 comments Thanks Catia! Must be harder to find in the U.S. No worries, I may find a used, print copy!

Kelly Kosinski | 33 comments Hi all, I ordered my book from Amazon about 10 days ago. Still waiting….

Cátia | 601 comments I’m currently on chapter four. It has been an interesting read so far. It gives good insight into his childhood, his teenage years and the family background.

Deeksha | 4 comments I read it. It was disturbing but it did give the insights of Jeffrey's life and why and how did he do the murders.
It was also my first book of such type. So it was umm a weird experience. Anyways, here's my review if you wanna see- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Cátia | 601 comments I'm currently on chapter seven. This chapter has quite disturbing detailed descriptions of the crimes and the disposal of the bodies.

That is always a risk with True Crime. Some author can tell you what happened without graphic detail but others want to describe every drop of blood at the crime scene.

Cátia | 601 comments I liked the fact that for the really gory details he avoided mentioning which victim he was talking about. I guess he did that out of respect for the victims families.

I finished this book today. I gave it 3 stars. It was interesting to read and to get more insight into Dahmer’s case. But it wasn’t one of my favorite true crime books. It didn’t like how it’s structured, the chapters are too long. I didn’t agree which some of the author’s views. He brought some ambiguous topics like mythology, which isn’t necessarily relevant for this subject. Also I didn’t like the way he criticized the psychologists on the case and the law experts. He speaks as if he’s an expert, but as far as I know he’s doesn’t have experience or qualifications in either psychology or law.
