The relationships between the characters are well written. There’s not the perfect marriage but it also isn't the too cliched marriage. The only relationship that I thought was too much was between Warner and Lindsay. That one was a little over the top. I know that there are a lot of relationships like theirs that really exist but I felt like it was a lot to happen over such a small period of time.
There are snippets of an Anonymous point of view and they feel like they are trying to throw you in the wrong direction of who the killer is. It really added to the suspense but I feel like I was quick to catch up on who it was (view spoiler)[until that person “died.” Then my suspicions came back when Jack had come to the conclusion that Warner wasn’t really a surgeon (because maybe he just wants to impress Lindsay therefore doesn’t know how to properly do CPR or check for a pulse). I think it was the usage of calling the kid “sport,” the kid having short hair, and teaching the kid to shoot is what drew me to Lindsay (Michelle just wasn’t much of an important character to be right) because it felt like the author was trying too hard to get you to think the killer was a guy. (view spoiler)[I’m not sure why the claw marks were used throughout the book (by the author or the characters). It was kind of an odd thing to include since we all know going into the book that there isn’t some crazy monster, it was one of the six. It just didn’t add anything because even the characters knew that nothing that lived in that area could make those marks. (hide spoiler)]
It’s a well written book, but the plot doesn’t seem to go much of anywhere and there’s nothing that really jumps out at you to make it a book to remember. I think I'm not a fan of revenge kills and that’s what is bothering me with the whole thing. It just seems like something so small and silly to get so worked up over enough to kill. (view spoiler)[I know it says she has killed before (her dad and Ted is who we know of), but the book talks about how Lindsay and Claire’s friendship drifted apart and they would go weeks without hanging out with each other. Which makes it seem a little weird that she would come back with such rage and tendencies that lean more towards obsession. (hide spoiler)]
