E Post | 49 comments I absolutely adored this book. I am going to feel weird now since it is over. The narration told through letters was so neat and I appreciated that they used their ow voice, it felt so real.

I cried. At times Everything felt so hopeless but then everything felt better. The different stages of life was told so honestly.

Overall, I am happy I finally sat down and read this book, I cannot believe it took me so long to finally start it!

I would definitely read this again and recommend it to everyone :)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Okay I need help, because I can't quite make up my mind on whether it actually does or doesn't...

Does The Color Purple fit the prompt:
Read a book about social justice or featuring a character that advocates for social justice reform?

I'm aware it discusses social issues, but does it actually address social justice directly?

Stacy Moug I really loved the book and I’m glad I picked this as my first group read. The story was in many ways heartbreaking but so full of love, hope and resilience. I learned a lot from each of the character’s personalities and narratives. I’m really looking forward to reading the other two books in the color purple collection. Also curious how the movie compares. Thank you for the nudge to finally read it!
