FBI Agent Nick Buchanan is Tommy’s best friend and decides to come protect Laurant while they investigate the threat. He’s afraid of flying and there’s an incident that occurs on the plane before it leaves the tarmac. What was the purpose of this scene?

It showed how observant and aware of his circumstances Nick was at all times, even facing a stressful, for him, situation.

I agree, Anita. Nick was able to take down the guy, even though he was stressed out over having to fly.

I agree. It showcased just how sufficient and aware Tommy was - even at his worse.

I agree with everyone. Nick doesn't allow his personal discomfort to get in the way of doing his duty.

That was my thinking, how Nick does extremely well under stress. This was all about getting who he was quickly.
