I got annoyed seeing Stranger Things being mentioned because it seemed to be the default show people picked and started tracking it. I'm pretty sure I read all of these in '22.

🔹Bitter Sweet Heart | Clover appears a minute later wearing a pair of capri yoga pants and a Stranger Things T-shirt that slides off her right shoulder as she sets her glasses on the coffee table.
🔹The Ex Talk | "People go wild over a new Stranger Things season for a week before a new Marvel trailer drops, and then there's a new Disney remake everyone's talking about."
🔹Happily Letter After | Later that evening, Devin and I had finished off the pizza, half of the other snacks, a bottle of wine, and three episodes of Stranger Things before I decided to open the letter.
🔹Not the Witch You Wed | Blaming her paranoia on her latest Stranger Things binge watch, Vi passed a burly man with an empty cart and headed for the dairy section.
🔹Love on the Brain | I’m in the Upside Down, my heart’s thudding in my ears, and Levi Ward just said something nice about me.
🔹Rebel | I settle onto the couch and put on the second season of Stranger Things.
🔹The Temp | I made the mistake of saying I never saw Stranger Things today at the office, and Preston is now hellbent on introducing me to the show.

📦 Select Book Subscriptions/SEs Services and Shops 📦

Store links in second post. This list is NOT exhaustive of all offerings as there are many many services, but I follow these as they have picks that I enjoy both in and out of the sub! All of these, as Nirkatze noted, host general sales and give early access to current subscribers (usually a couple days) outside of the sub offerings. If the book sells out under early access, they don't hold a general sale. Every company's general sale books are shown beforehand and are preorders. And as Ann-Marie said, it is best to look through different brands' social media or news section to see past offerings/examples of covers to get a feel! I have included some pictures in this post though. Every spoiler tag has covers and dustjackets, etc.

There are aesthetic choices that each company makes that are important to take into consideration as there have been multiple overlaps. FairyLoot and Illumicrate specifically have an agreement with each other to not overlap in monthly subscriptions, but the general sale is open range for everyone. For example, Broken Binding sold The Priory of the Orange Tree/A Day of Fallen Night, and then Illumicrate a month later also announced their covers. I won't be saying much on delivery delays as I've only recently started subscriptions to a couple, and haven't bought from everyone before. I personally haven't issues with preordering general sale stuff overall though. FairyLoot and Ilumicrate both have US distribution centers, but Illumicrate's general sales books only ship out from UK. FL general sales ships from US too. Majority of everyone else mentioned ships from UK as well.

Illumicrate also has a romance bi-monthly sub, Afterlight, that focuses on contemporary romance. Usually M/F or F/F so far.
🔹Sub Prices: £27 ($35) for box, £17 ($23) for book only + shipping per month. Can pre-pay 3, 6 or 12 months for discount.
🔹️Features: Box has 4-6 fandom + fandom neutral items. Books are usually signed (digitally or hand-signed), exclusive covers/hardback, endpaper art, sprayed or digitally printed edges, which can be solid, ombre, or have detailed designs. For example, you just want first editions with minimal changes, you want to do quarterly instead of monthly, you want something more fantasy romance-focused, you want just custom sprayed edges, or, you don't want to deal with subscriptions at all.

🔹Genre: Both YA and Adult monthly books, usually with medium to heavy romance focus, and some with more smut compared to other offerings in the adult sub. Both contemporary and fantasy are found in the same subscription. Pairings seem to be mostly M/F from what I saw, but it's also includes poly/why choose under general sale so I wouldn't be surprised if there were M/M and F/F too. They have a "Darkly" label for specifically adult romance.
