I am not a big sports fan but I do usually watch the Super Bowl with a group of girlfriends. We love to pick teams and cheer them on, eat junk food, and critique the commercials and half-time show. We have a blast. This year the contenders are Kansas City Chiefs (our hostess' favorite team) and Philadelphia Eagles.
Read a book with a cover at least 50% color that matches a color of their uniforms.

2.3 (Pat's Task) PRESIDENT'S DAY

The birthday of U.S. President George Washington was first celebrated as a federal holiday in the United States in the 1880s. In 1968 the holiday was adapted to also honour the birth of U.S. President Abraham Lincoln and moved to the third Monday in February. However, in some states, both men have celebrations that honor them specifically. George Washington's Birthday Marathon and Relay is the longest-running marathon in the National Capital area. Lincoln's Days Celebration is a legal, public holiday in Kentucky, established for the purpose of celebrating the birth of Abraham Lincoln.

Select one of the following two options and read Task A and B for that option.

✪ Option 1 ~ Abe Lincoln
Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, to Nancy and Thomas Lincoln in a one-room log cabin in Hardin County, Kentucky. In 1830, his family moved to Macon County in southern Illinois, and Lincoln got a job working on a river flatboat hauling freight down the Mississippi River to New Orleans.

Task A ~ Read a book by an author whose first initial is A or whose last initial is L
Task B ~ Read a book that has at least 2 of the digits in Lincoln's birthday in its page count.
FEB 12, 1809 ~ 0, 1, 1, 2, 8, 9

✪ Option 2 ~ George Washington
If you could go back in time and ask a young George Washington on what day he was born, he would reply February 11, 1731. However, when GW was born, Great Britain and its colonies, used the Julian calendar which had different dates than the wider used Gregorian calendar. In 1752, Britain and all its colonies adopted the Gregorian calendar which moved Washington's birthday a year and 11 days to February 22, 1732.

Task A ~ Read a book by an author whose first initial is G or whose last initial is W
Task B ~ Read a book that has at least 2 of the digits in one of George Washington's birthdays in its page count.
***Specify which date you selected for your page count
FEB 11, 1731 ~ 1, 1, 1, 1, 3, 7
FEB 22, 1732 - 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 7
