Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 1987 comments I nominate The Enigma by Michael Bar-Zohar The Enigma by Michael Bar-Zohar

The Kindle edition is around $5, it’s also part of KU, unfortunately the paper editions are extremely expensive (more than $100) so should it not work I’ll look for a different book.

How about nominating a backup too? We can see how votes go. A lot of people have Kindle so it might not be an issue for many.

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 1987 comments In that case I nominate as backup With Music In Their Hearts (The Spies of World War II, #1) by Carole Brown With Music In Their Hearts by Carole Brown
This is another KU book though much cheaper for those who are not member and need to buy it.

I'll nominate The Meaning of Everything The Story of the Oxford English Dictionary by Simon Winchester The Meaning of Everything: The Story of the Oxford English Dictionary which I've read once and found fascinating. It's over $10 but there are lots of used - good condition copies available for less than $10.

MPG: History
You can find a copy for a lot less than $10.00

Too bad none of the Kindle editions are available in Germany :-(

Hey Agnieszka - sorry to hear that. I'll change my book then. Can you get The Professor and the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity and the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary?

Karin Wow, it's harder than I realized to find books for under $10 (but then I usually use the library!) It took me quite a while as I went down my historical shelf to find one. This is the first that matched but it's both historical and a classic--I don't usually shelve classics as a historical but there must have been a reason I did so.

Aha, I made a mistake and only looked at books under 300 pages.

Elizabeth and Her German Garden by Elizabeth von Arnim

Mrs W Woodruff | 859 comments I nominate :

Mary Jane by Jessica Blau

Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate

A Tuscany Memory by Angela Petch

A Doctors Daughter by Shari Ryan

Just got back online. Thank you for your message and being willing to change book. Unfortunatelly there's some issue with this one in the German shop as well so I can't get it either. I let Amazon know, but have no idea how long it will take to fix it.

It's so frustrating Amazon is making it more and more diffucult to get English language Kindle editions in Germany. If I'd do audio I'd have half as many issues :-(

So frustrating! I don't know what to suggest. Sigh.

No worries. Should the winner not appeal to me or I can't get my hands on it I'll join another time. Just pick the one you'd like to read most and I'm sure it will work out well in the end.
Thank you anyway for your willingness to go the extra mile.
