Only the Nastaliq script looks good in text and is readable but you need somewhat scanned text for it. I think Adeeb does scanned words too but I'm not sure about their implementation. If you like Adeeb, go with it. If not, I can connect you with a Professor who's working on extending machine capabilities to deal with Urdu language and you can pitch your proposal to him.

You will not find any of the books in Urdu in electronic format other than scanned. The reason being, that almost none of the publishers are releasing these books in electronic format.
As far as the format is concerned, any format is changeable to any other format.
As for the websites with database, rekhta is not the one with a good collection and often their scans are of not a very good quality. I can share links to some other good sites. Just let me know what genre you are looking for.

Thank you for the info.
I wanted to publish my second ebook on Kindle Direct Publishing as an Urdu version of the first edition that was in English, but couldn't. Please tell me where can I publish my Urdu Version of an already published ebook in KDP. I want to make some money out of it too.
And I have a Pakistani account and Pakistani audience

I want to publish an Urdu ebook and make some money of it. Where to do so?
I wanted to know if my kindle supports Urdu font.
So I tried to find any document in epub or mobi format with urdu text, I couldn't even find a sample.
All I could find were just PDFs that were simple scanned books with pictures of pages. No text.
We're way behind in this game.
Does anyone know about any Urdu books in epub format with Urdu text. Not the scanned pictures.
Or does anyone know of any organization that is working on Urdu ebooks?
