Izzy is almost thirty years old and Eden turned eighteen the morning after she met him. Your thoughts about their age difference? If circumstances had not been so desperate for Eden, would her encounter with Izzy have felt inappropriate or are they consenting adults who shouldn’t be judged?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Eden is an old soul. She has been through a lot in her 18 years and has had to grow up fast. Izzy is on the immature side, even being almost 30. Brockman likes to raise the age difference issue and has done so with numerous couples before. I didn't have a problem with it.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Anita made a good point. They may be 12 years apart in age, but in experience and maturity, they are about the same age.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments Eden is a consenting adult. I did not see an issue with their relationship at all.

Brockmann has a hang-up about age differences that doesn't really jive with reality.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree with these comments.

Honestly, I'm getting tired of Brockmann's age taboo stories. There are some immature young adults who may be too young in this situation, but that isn't the case with one couple in this series that we've met so far. I wonder who Brockmann knows who influenced these stories. On the bright side, it allows me to complete a challenge prompt.

I have no idea why Brockmann places so much focus on age difference.

Anita, you make a good point about Eden being older in a lot of ways than the sum of her years and Izzy being much less mature than your typical 30-year old. They were closer in “age” than their numbers.

I didn’t have a problem with the actual age difference the moment she turned eighteen.
