What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I can't remember if the doors are to her memories or to the memories of other people in the apartment complex. I also feel like the memories were centered around peoples' deaths. She doesn't gain access to this until she moves to the new apartment and there may or may not be a key involved.
There is also a library that hold dead peoples' souls in which her (brother?uncle?grandpa?) is shelved and she ends up letting him out which causes problems because she's not supposed to. For some reason I want to say their move to this new apartment was motivated by that family member's death.
There's also a boy in the apartment whom she befriends as well as an older lady. I believe at some point the old lady either dies or goes missing and her and the boy search her apartment.
There may or may not be a key on the cover and for some reason I want to say it's blue/black but I'm not 100% sure.
