Jenny - NO! Now I recollect, we may have discussed this book briefly before. But when I nominated it just now, I wasn't sure it was very widely known. So I thought if it got any secondings it would be because someone had been digging out the info. I remember being very impressed when I read it though; it was key when it was published, as was the TV series with all the visual examples. And now I find it's on Kindle I'd really like to read it again!
*Phew* ;)

Yes, I loved the book and would really like reading it again , still have to look at the TV series though!

I've been interested in this one for a while as well, it's a shame there are no copies at the library :(

Ways of Seeing by John Berger seconded
The Diary of Frida Kahlo: An Intimate Self-Portrait by Frida Kahlo seconded
Flannery: A Life of Flannery O'Connor by Brad Gooch
Bohemian Paris: Picasso, Modigliani, Matisse and the Birth of Modern Art by Dan Franck

I'll second that!

Ian, I would love to read your suggestion but I cannot get my hands on it.

I don't know who is in charge of this thread but can I nominate Paris, Paris: Journey into the City of Light? Doesn't anyone else want to read this???? It looks so good.

It is also available on Kindle and at Audible. So pretty easy to get.
There was a copy of the frida Kahlo diary on display at the library today, so I went through the pages while I was waiting. It was really lovely and colorful to look at . ... although some of the drawibgs were a little disturbing.
@ Chrissie, the book about Paris you nominated gave me so much nostalgia ;) it seems great.
