My mother and husband are both avid readers, too, but they read rather differently than I do. In fact, they have more in common with each other than with me, it seems. For example, they're both big fans of Jack Reacher novels.
I'm struggling to find local book clubs. At my little library that's close, we are to read whatever we like, and then talk about one or two that we think are worth telling the others about. Well I went to my first meeting last week and promoted the Newbery book Joyful Noise: Poems for Two Voices. As the subtitle says, these are poems meant to be read aloud by two people. I asked for, and got, a volunteer, to read *Cicadas* together, and it was a hoot! Now, there were only five of us there, counting the librarian, so we'll have to see about next month.

I have recently found some friends at work who read, though we rarely read the same kinds of things. Sometimes I get recommendations from them. Briefly some middle school friends started a Facebook book club that was active, but it fizzled out pretty quickly and my attempts to revive it died.
My husband has never been a reader, but a few years ago I got him hooked on audiobooks, and now he's listened to the entire Harry Potter and Game of Thrones series several times. He has ADD so sitting still to read is hard for him, but if he can listen and do yardwork or play video games simultaneously, he is sufficiently stimulated.
