Yeah, it’s been great to read one a month! It’s keeping the momentum going and still manageable by getting to read other books in the month.

What a difference it is reading this versus reading the Malazan book I'm reading along with it. With these Expanse books, I read for an hour and suddenly I'm 60 pages along. I read Toll the Hounds for that or even longer, and I've only covered 25-30 pages! Those books are so dense while the Expanse books just flow...

I know! It's so easy to get into the POVs and 50 pages later... hahaha

I was floored. I love how it’s written in the book so much more. It’s a gut punch of a plot twist. 😃👍

It really was. I’m now up to the start of ch 20. (view spoiler)[ And of course her son turns on her. I knew things weren’t going to go well for her in that situation.

So now, I think Alex and Bobbi are going to end up running into Naomi at this meteor they’re going to. I’m wondering if Amos is going to show up there somehow as well?? (hide spoiler)]

I’m up to ch41, about 100 pages left or so. I don’t see how all of this can get resolved in that few a pages!

I feel the same! I think some of what is going on in this book has to be resolved in book 6, Babylon's Ashes.

There's just so much going on in this one and it's hard to put down. I can’t figure out which POV that I'm more excited to get back to while I'm reading this. hahaha
It's not like in the past books in where one or two POVs were more exciting then the rest. In this one, they’re all good!

That’s great, Kristen! I agree with Ginger, I think you’ll like this one as well. It’s been great so far.

Once I finish HP, Goblet of Fire, this is my next big book to read.

I just finished this one! This was my favorite in the series so far. I concur with the other comments, I loved that it was so focused on the crew of the Rocinante. (view spoiler)[ Naomi’s storyline was the biggest surprise for me. I just didn’t see any of it coming, but then I realized that we really knew almost nothing about her past, so I guess it shouldn’t have been too surprising to find out she had some skeletons in the closet. She’s a total badass but I did kind of dig them showing her vulnerable side as well.

I think totally underrated is the comedy of Amos and Avasarala’s relationship. I laughed out loud every time he called her Chrissie 😂

I think there is another novella in between so I am going to read that then start the next. I will try and get a jump start as obviously I am a bit of a slow reader. Glad I’m finally caught up!

I got a late start on this due to March's schedule of "larger" books. I am up to chapter 13 now and cruising along nicely. I should finish up before the end of the month no problem, but will not get to the next book until the end of April....again. Large books slated for April.

Personally, I love Amos' journey in this more than the rest of the crew - but that was my take on the TV series as well, so perhaps I am a bit biased from that. Idk, but I love this series!!

I'm also biased with Amos too. He's my favorite of the Roci crew. I love the contradiction with his character in how he can be a (view spoiler)[absolute monster or completely loyal to his crew.

Another thing that I love is how he uses Naomi and Holden as examples for his moral compass and what would they do in this situation. I find it fascinating that his character could go either way, being good or super bad. (hide spoiler)]

I agree 100% - a monster and loveable all at the same time! lol

I'm 30% in and loving this book. Zooming through it.

At 37%. Can't help but notice that In Leviathan Wakes, it was the mystery of the missing heiress, in this book, it's the mystery of the missing ships in multiple flavours (Gates swallowing them whole, or humans stealing them for nefarious purposes). In both cases, it is the mystery that is drawing the characters forward, and the readers along with them.

56% in, Ch 28. and the proverbial has officially hit the fan.

Gripping stuff, and hard to put down.
