Sign up to the challenge where it is shown at the top of the discussions on the Group Home Page.
If you don't see the latest active challenge click the link Challenges.

You will be asked which shelf the books to read are on. If you say horse and you do not have a horse bookshelf, Goodreads will put one in to your personal list of shelves.
When you complete a read you have placed on that shelf, Goodreads sees the progress.

Now the challenge registers that you have read some of the books.

You might decide to name it challenge shelf so it would be used for challenges in any other Group too.
Tell us your titles in this thread.

Authors are allowed to mention their own suitable books, as they could read their own books for this challenge.
This season we are reading books with tack, harness or riding gear in the title. Series titles are allowed too.

Have fun!

My first read is Stolen Saddles
Stolen Saddles (Mystery Stables, #1) by Tudor Robins
which is a great fun mystery.

I've had a recommendation of Jingle Bells
Jingle Bells (Horse Diaries Special Edition) by Catherine Hapka

Bells on a draught horse's harness are lovely!

If those look familiar, you probably read the Saddle Club series. Tell us which is your favourite and which you are reading for the Challenge!

Pretty much any Western will do since horses were the main form of transport. This one has boots in the title, I have not read it but the horse seems to play a big part according to reviews. Westerns are usually written for adult readers.

Tough As Old Boots (Never Too Old Westerns Book 2) by J.V. James

Silks and Sins by Clare O'Beara My work Silks and Sins would suit, as the jockeys wear silks for racing. This is one for adult readers.

I think we could count horseshoes as tack. Horse bandages, blankets, even plaits, if you are stuck for a title that will fit.

We can accept riding or driving whips. Not a bullwhip.

I'm way behind and will have to re-read older books to make the target. I have new books with horses, but they don't have tack in the title.

Horse brasses would count, these are decorative items made of brass which were fastened to a draught horse's harness on fair or showing days. Some were considered lucky charms and some may have identified the owner or a group they belong to, or a location.
