at around ch two - three, I almost chucked the book (I thought it was making some pretty clear religious/lifestyle judgments that I wasn't cool with but ....no, it's good)

I'm liking it so far!

I'm on chapter 3, I like it so far. I am into Vivian, I really like her voice.

it's pretty suspicious that the sledge hammer still had a sale sticker on it and had white dust on it....
probably from the parents (or someone from the church maybe?) pounding out the roof and ceiling...but I can't figure out why...

are they trying to change the way people of the world are by scaring them straight?? (hide spoiler)]

I also like Vivian(view spoiler)[ but i"m sad she left. I can see why she would want an adult, but she left her friends and she went to New York - no way would I want to be a big city as it all goes crazy!!! (hide spoiler)]

The Rapture (view spoiler)[ Are they hiding out in California? I found it suspicious that there were holes in Viv's ceiling but Harp's parents just disappeared. If the rapture is fake how did they choose which bielievers to take and which to stay (hide spoiler)]

and I now agree with Harp. something is off here - I think there's something he's not telling her

Orphans(view spoiler)[ I'm so glad that they had at least something figured out- and that it was warm and safe and took care of the little one
it was a little cult-ish but not bad

but I"m so glad she's helping her with this awful aunt
I can't believe the aunt took all her anger out on a young girl :(

Vivian(view spoiler)[I like her too. I'm so glad she got her moments with peter
but was really glad (sad, but glad) to see her grow from the experience and be able to walk away when their interests didn't go the same line.
I'm so so glad she stuck with Harp. Her mom was so awful, I can't imagine how it would have been to feel all those hurt emotions while trying to get to know such a fun new sister (UGH! D:) I'm glad she left. (hide spoiler)]

but, at the end of the day, he left his daughter too. There is NO WAY I could leave my children behind. I would NOT have left and I would have given that letter with the "secret" info to the first News station to offer $$....awful (hide spoiler)]
