Cheryl (cherylllr) Non-fiction!

message 2: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Let's get some ideas out here. I know there are at least a couple of titles mentioned earlier in the group if only I could remember them. Or travel back in time to when we were discussing them....

Cheryl (cherylllr) Random-ish finds from the web, uninvestigated and unvetted:

"Time Travel in Einstein's Universe" by J Richard Gott
Hyperspace by Michio Kaku
In Search of the Edge of Time by John Gribbin
Time machines, time travel in physics, metaphysics, and science fiction by Paul J Nahin
Ryan Wasserman, PARADOXES OF TIME TRAVEL

I used Time Machines by Paul J. Nahin (and other non-fiction sources).

Cheryl (cherylllr) Bump! I should put a poll up soon. I see only three titles above that look worth listing as they've been actually mentioned by group members.

Heather(Gibby) (heather-gibby) | 469 comments I'll be sitting this one out as I am not interested in non-fiction time travel books, its the fantasy of it that lures me in. Best wishes to those who do want to pursue this path

message 9: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Poll is up! Please vote soon, so we each have a chance to find a copy of the winning title!

I have to agree

Pat of Rocks | 70 comments Where can I find the poll link?

message 12: by Deborah (new)

Deborah | 36 comments click on the word polls on the upward right to find all polls for the group, but here is this one:

https://www.goodreads.com/poll/list/4...

message 13: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Sorry about that; thanks Deborah!

message 14: by Deborah (new)

Deborah | 36 comments no problem.

message 15: by Glynn (new)

Glynn | 342 comments I know we have already voted for June non-fiction read but I just came across a book which might be interesting for a future non-fiction time travel read, except it might not be about "time travel" but seems to be about our perception of time: Saving Time: Discovering a Life Beyond the Clock

Cheryl (cherylllr) Good catch, thank you! I don't think it applies to TT, but it's surely of interest to some of us who like to explore ideas about time in a more general sense.

Cheryl (cherylllr) And the winner is Parallel Worlds: A Journey through Creation, Higher Dimensions, and the Future of the Cosmos.

Discussion leader defaults to me, so I better brace myself. (It's only avl. as an ebook to me, either from my library or from openlibrary, and I find ebooks difficult to read.)

I hope you can find it in your preferred format: it is also avl. as paper and audio.

My library had a hard copy of this so I will give it a go. Thanks!
