Trish (trishhartuk) | 420 comments I'll try for this one as well - hopefully the purple book I have in mind will work okay. I will admit, I'm not a fan of "colour on the cover" tasks, as people see colours differently.

1. May is Gifts from the Garden Month, The third week is National Wildflower Week, May 8 is Iris Day and May 14 Lilac Sunday: Read a book that features flowers, or has flowers on the cover.

Death in Bloom, Jess Dylan - 04/05/23

2. May 6 is National Tourist Appreciation Day and May 7 National Tourism Day: Read a book centered on tourism, or set in a touristy location (e.g.: Cape Cod, Florida Keys, Hollywood, Paris, etc.).

Fictional London: A Guide to the Capital’s Literary Landmarks, Stephen Halliday - 23/05/23
I don't think this is too much of a stretch. It is all about London, which is touristy, and could be used as the basis of a walking tour around its literary landmarks. Plus, I'm out of time to read anything else!

3. May 14 is Mother's Day, celebrated in more than forty countries worldwide: Read a book that features a mother (does not have to be the main character).

A Witch to Remember, Heather Blake - 03/05/23
The MC’s mother is a secondary, but important, character in the book.

4. May 16 is Wear Purple for Peace Day: Read a book with a purple cover (at least 50 percent), or that has either "purple" or "peace" in the title.

Lilac Avenue, Pamela Grandstaff - 19/05/23

5. May 22 is National Maritime Day: Read a book set on or near the sea/ocean.

Murder in the Caribbean, Robert Thorogood - 10/05/23
Set on the small (fictional) Caribbean of Saint-Marie. The police station overlooks the sea, and one of the murders is on a boat.

1. Death in Bloom (A Flower House Mystery #1) by Jess Dylan , 2. Fictional London A Guide to the Capital’s Literary Landmarks by Stephen Halliday , 3. A Witch to Remember (A Wishcraft Mystery, #9) by Heather Blake , 4. Lilac Avenue by Pamela Grandstaff , 5. Murder in the Caribbean (Death in Paradise, #4) by Robert Thorogood
