What is the significance of Steinbeck's decision to travel alone and in a camper rather than with a companion or in a traditional car?

According to me Steinbeck's decision to travel alone allowed him to fully immerse himself in the experience of being on the road and exploring the country. Without the distractions of a companion, he was free to fully engage with the landscape and people he encountered.

I agree with Abdul. Taking time to travel alone gave Steinbeck time to get to know himself on a deeper level.
