Evan has a new client in the middle of all the mayhem with Van Sciver, Xavier Orellano a young man who no longer wants to be with the MS-13 gang and whose father made the call. Evan confronted the gang leader, Freeway, asking to buy him out and agreeing to return the next day for the answer. Why do you think Freeway didn’t attempt to kill him on the spot? Could you imagine any solution that would work?

Maybe Freeway thought that he could take the money that Evan was offering to buy Xavier out and then get rid of Evan. That way Xavier would still be part of the gang. Of course, if he thought Xavier wanted out, he would have killed him in a second. I don't think there was a solution to this problem unless Evan could whip-up some kind of witness protection for Xavier and his father and get them across the country.

Freeway thought Evan had big balls to talk the way he did and I think Freeway thought Evan was a bit touched in the head or was curious how this would play out and thought he could wait and then kill Evan when Evan came back
