When Stars Are Scattered

When the Stars are Scattered by Victoria Jamieson and Omar Mohamed is a moving and deeply personal and heartbreaking graphic novel that tells the story of Omar's childhood as a Somali refugee. I really liked that book and would rate it 4.5/5. The story of separation and book in general was relatable for me and made me sad from moment to moment as may family became refugees about a year ago when Russia invaded Ukraine. Jamieson's illustrations are stunning and capture the emotions of the characters in a way that would be very hard to do with just words. Omar's story is both heartbreaking and inspiring, and shows the challenges faced by refugees around the world. Overall, "The Stars are Scattered" is an amazing read for anyone seeking to understand the refugee experience and the resilience of the human spirit.
