The story begins with a murder committed in 1990 that we witness. How did this scene inform your theories, if at all, through the course of the story?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments It did not seem that the man and the woman victims were connected, except by proximity.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments The prologue didn't help me at all. I actually forgot most of it as I was reading the book.

Ditto! I actually went back every now and then to re-read and refresh my memory.

At one point, I was sure the sadistic killer was Jake Taggert.

The only thing I recalled was that a woman was there and the man seemed to know everyone there. He also was in partnership with the before.

I don't remember there being anyone other than the woman, the killer and the victim. So I was kind of surprised later to learn that there were several others there as well - Jake, Harley, Shawn and Curtis

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I expected the murder to tie into something current day. I was surprised that Jake, Harley, Shawn, and Curtis were there too. I didn't remember anyone except the murderer, the woman, and a man who finally did the right thing.
