Bree finds a squatter living in the barn on her family’s property. After searching for the backpack he tried to lose, she and Matt find human remains that they learn date back to when her father was still living. Considering that first scene, did you think Jake might be involved?

I thought he must have know something about the crimes or the victims.

I assumed the deaths dated back many years to when Bree's father was alive. I didn't think the killer would be hanging around after all this time, even though he was acting suspiciously.

Not sure if the question pertains to the squatter or Bree's father. In either case, I was suspicious but not sure if either was the killer.

Jake Taggert was territorial so I'm not sure anyone else would have been able to bury bodies on his land without his knowing.

Shawn was really strange and obsessed with the place (the skull was morbid), but he seemed rather pathetic and not at all like the killer in the prologue

I’ve clarified it to indicate this is about Jake. I wasn’t sure if Jake was the killer but I was 100% certain he was there. I agree with Lauren that he would not have allowed this to happen on his property without being complicit.

I agree. I thought Jake was involved but I wasn't sure how. I believe he would have shot anyone he didn't want on his property.
