La Crosse County Library discussion

Did you know that you can win free books on Goodreads? Under the Browse tab, you can click on Giveaways and enter your name to win books both in hardcover and kindle formats. If you enter, the book goes on your To Read list and if you win, you are asked to write a review of the book for Goodreads.

Pretty easy, right? Have you known anyone who has won a book on Goodreads?

I've won quite a few, but since I've become a NetGalley reviewer I haven't won anything in a while.

I too have only won a book or two, but I'm not a NetGallery reviewer -- just figured that because I've won a book, my name wouldn't be chosen again for a while.. but I'll continue entering 😁👍

I've won lots of books! You have to be diligent about entering and keep watch for announcements about books you are interested in. I have found several new favorite authors this way and even made a couple of GR friends by winning and making friends with the authors.

What a great testimony to Goodreads Giveaways! Thanks for sharing your experience with our group!

I have been in GR's for quite a few years and I tend to win 4 to 6 books a year. I think that is probably above average - it is with my friends anyhow. The trick is to only sign up for books that you truly want to read, so as not to get stuck reading a genre that you might not like. However it is also a good way to explore a new genre without having to spend the money to buy something that you may not like.
