Shane Bartholomew, the young man whose truck was used to abduct Todd, is a “self-proclaimed” incel (involuntary celibates)? Were you familiar with this term before this story? Your thoughts about this online community? Matt’s interview with him?

I've read about Incels in other books. I might have even seen something about them on one of the crime shows. My thoughts? I think they are a group of men who want to blame women for the problems in their lives and the fact that they can't get a date. It's another hate group that has sprung up from like-minded people on the internet.

I enjoyed Matt's interview with Shane. He had him believing that he more or less understood where Shane was coming from. This made Shane want to volunteer information about what happened to Todd Harvey.

Yes, the term is familiar to me. Men who blame women for their own inadequacies and feel that they are owed a woman's attention are far too common. The internet has made it very easy for these kinds of self-entitled jerks to spread their vileness.

@Robin - I also enjoyed the way Matt manipulated Shane. He is a good interrogator and I'm glad that Bree has the benefit of his skills as an investigator.
