Nathan I have had 1Q84 on my shelf for some time now. Obviously it is a heavy read where size is concerned, but I was wondering how long it took you all to read.

♥︎ | 1 comments I still didn’t read that! My current Murakami’s reading is “South of the border, west of the sun”, but I can tell you a friend of mine recommended me to read “1Q84”.
(I’m sorry if there is any mistake)

It took me approximately 3 weeks to read book 1-2 (as the edition I own puts the first two in just one copy) and book 3 like just 4 days I think. In book 1-2 I didn't have time to read every single day. And most of the time I tried to read about 50 pages per session. But it's a really good novel, highly suggest it. Some parts may get slow as Murakami starts over-describing each situation. But even those parts are enjoyable to some degree.

Aušrinė (ausrejurke) | 9 comments I read the first one in 1.5 months. Second - ~3 weeks. Third - exactly a month. But this was back in 2014 when I read much less books (for comparison, 11 books in 2014 while this year I already read 12).

Marco | 1 comments 1Q84 is a very dense book. Can’t recollect how long it took me to read but Murakami has stated (not verbatim) that his desire for this book was to ‘write the most about the least possible.’ Great read but if you are new to Murakami would definitely not start there 🌎

Almost proves your point, cause I am weird that way

Stephen Rider | 2 comments I'd not heard that quote, thank you. I thought he was just tantalising us with the romance outcome.

Yagmur | 2 comments it took me 1 month to finish whole three books which surprised me also because it is really long but i was super invested in it. I just couldn’t stop!
