(if I remember well, it was what Jo broght to Laurie the very first time she went to see him at his grandfather's as he was not well, with flu; it was prepared by sweet motherly Meg! But it could be from the film, now that I think better)

indian delicacy, eaten piping hot on cold winter days. loosely translates to carrot mush, but don't go by the name xD it's made by slowly caramelizing grated carrot with sugar, and then adding some thick, condensed milk, cooking a bit more, and finally, garnishing with almond shavings (or any dried fruit of one's choice)
