Not sure many joined in for book 2, but I'm definitely in for book 3 regardless (have to finish burning white and the Traitor first though!)

I am so in for book 3. But I am also game for waiting until you start--I have to get through the Traitor too, and there's a bunch of books for week 1 here.

Not sure I'll be able to hold off much longer... I'll probably listen to this over the weekend.

Starting! Through Chapter 13 (view spoiler)[I'm really enjoying seeing Joron come into his own as Deckkeeper, and not-quite shipwife.

And each time the Black Orris says "Ass!" it makes me smile. (hide spoiler)]

Finished Part I (view spoiler)[I love the different creatures in this world--all the different aquatic things that can kill you!

And it's kind of cute, how Joron is trying to pretend he doesn't call the arakeesians, and everyone is just sort of pretending to pretend with him, winky winky.

I don't really have a lot of thoughts so far, just enjoying the story unfold... (hide spoiler)]

Ha. Might back to come back and backtrack this since the next Siege series starts shortly.

Finished Part II (view spoiler)[I really liked the reveal that the Guillaime is female, and that she's being controlled because someone stole her egg.

Was very surprised by the 13 Bern's reaction to Meas's taking... was not expecting it to be her uncle behind everything, in a sort of male revolution.

I like that Joron is seeing even more of Meas as human, rather than myth. Hard to see heroes brought down low... and he has to be the one to prop her up... (hide spoiler)]

I've been thinking about the name of the book--"The Bone Ship's Wake"--and thinking of Wake as in the wake of a boat... but if you just take out the ' it becomes wake as in awaken, and I feel like that would be appropriate as well... I like word plays like that.

And finished! (view spoiler)[I loved the play of the culture, and how hope came to the ship in the source of two children--one of humankind and done of the Guillaime.

I really liked how Joron fought for a change in the way of things, for the sake of the child and the deckholder mother. The sacrifice of the ... the deckmother, right? All the sacrifices in this book hit me good. The ending, especially. I wiped a tear at the line in the epilogue. (hide spoiler)]
