I guess for June no Hugo nomination list will be available, so we should probably go with 2023 works. If anyone has a specific idea or theme, please share with us all here

The nomination deadline is April 30th, so there may in fact be a Hugo shortlist available by June -- but not in time to nominate right now. (also it's going to be heavy on Chinese works)

I'll definitely still have 2022 releases on my TBR that I'd like to read, but in the event that those are no longer eligible, I'd nominate Witch King by Martha Wells. Release date is May 30.

I guess if members wish it is fine to nominate 2022 works. My sole point is that June ends the first half of the year and I guess we'll have some Hugo 2022 reading in July or August, so "slots" for 2023 works are not too many

I nominate The Terraformers (2023) by Annalee Newitz. Also I found out that Greg Egan has new book Scale in a tradition of Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions I guess, if someone seeks for a nominee

MH | 299 comments I like everything mentioned so far, but I'll throw in And Put Away Childish Things by Adrian Tchaikovsky, to continue the fan club tradition.

I'm sorry I forgot to add the poll. Here it is: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/2...

Deadline April 20th

The poll is over, The Terraformers and Witch King got an equal number of votes. Do I drop a coin to choose or should we read both? Your comments are welcome

message 9: by MH (new)

MH | 299 comments I liked all the options this month, so I'm happy with both.

Stephen Burridge | 225 comments I am probably interested enough to read either or both, but much depends on local library availability, which doesn’t look promising at the moment.

Rebecca | 400 comments Same, happy with a coin toss.

Ok, I decided to add both as monthly reads, after all, no one is forced to read both, so can choose, both, any or neither :)
