Theo meets the rest of Michelle’s family including her big, bad antisocial brother John Paul Renard. As a former marine, John Paul rules the bayou and his Big Daddy’s bar. Turns out he’s also a skillful, talented furniture maker. Share your thoughts on John Paul and his role in this story. First impression?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments My first impression of John Paul is that he had a really tough time in the military and that he has withdrawn to the swamp to heal. He loves his family and is very protective of his sister.

I was fascinated with John Paul. Very protective of Michelle & his family for sure. Damaged for sure. I love that we get his story in Killjoy.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments John Paul sparked my interest from the start. I wondered how much we would learn about him in Mercy. He is definitely in pain. He is a protector. The way he can sneak up on people is a gift.
