Theo came to Bowen looking for something missing in his life. He carries guilt over the death of his wife four years prior, is disillusioned with his career and missing the passion he once felt for it. He sees in Michelle the passion he has lost and also he has found in her a love that he never felt for his wife. Michelle and the people of Bowen have made him see his life in a different way.

Most women and men, for that matter, with her intelligence and skills, would want to get out of a town like Bowen. Michelle wants to give back to the people she calls friends, and she provides them care openly and without regret.

Theo wants that for himself. The sense of belonging opens his heart which flames the passion for everything. He wants the love of a beautiful, talented, and gifted woman. He also wants the peace of mind that comes with knowing you belong somewhere. He is finding that in Bowen, and he wants more.
