Tag! You're it!

Every two weeks we will call three things - a cover item, word, and number. Those three things are "it" for that round and each book that your team reads during that time frame that matches at least one of the "it" options will earn the team 3 points plus the normal page points. It doesn't matter how many times the book has the item/word/number called, only one bonus of 3 points for the book will be given. Any books read that don't match "it" will just earn normal page points.
Please post finished books as soon as possible, as we will be going off of finished dates, so it won't matter to "hold" off posting books for a better category.

No limit to the amount of books a team/player can read during a round.


Page points:
100-199 pages=1 point
200-299 pages=2 points
300-399 pages=3 points
400-499 pages=4 points
500-599 pages=5 points
600-699 pages=6 points
700-799 pages=7 points
and so on...

Book Rules:

• Books must be at least 100 pages.
• Cookbooks, Picture books, Manga, Graphic Novels, Poetry books (basically anything with mainly pictures/limited text) are not allowed for this challenge. Aside from that, any books over 100 pages count for the challenge.
•Rereads are fine, so long as you don't reread the same book during this challenge
•Books read that were started before April 10th will only earn page points for the pages read after the challenge started and will not qualify for bonus points.


Sign-ups close April 8th. Challenge officially starts April 10th and ends after ten rounds. Categories will be called on Mondays by one of the mods.

Round 4: May 22nd-June 4th

Round 6: June 19th-July 2nd

I'm in. The amount of books I read in a week varies. Usually around 3-5 books, unless I'm in a slump.

Melanie, may I be put on a backup list? I have a tight editing deadline at the moment, so I don't think I can commit right away. But if someone has to drop out or doesn't show up for whatever reason, I'd be happy to fill in.

So far this year, I'm at a 1-3 books a week pace.

Just want to clarify a rule. I understand that any books I finish after April 10th, when the challenge begins, but had started before April 10th will only count for pages read.

What if I start a book after April 10 but take a month to read it so maybe finish it May 10. Can it count for bonus points for the it items that are called May 8th? Or to get the bonus points do you have to start and finish the books in the 2 week time frame?

If you start a book after April 10th, but don't finish it until May 10th, it would be eligible for the bonus points for the it items that are called May 8th.

If you started a book today (or anytime after the start of the challenge), but finish it next round it is eligible for the bonus from the round you finished it in.

Seeking clarification on the Author's Name for the 2nd round.

Would Bridgeman count for the bonus since Bridge is part of the author's last name or does it need to be an exact match to Bridge?

Thanks! I'm a couple chapters in and enjoying it so far. The second-chapter hook was that (view spoiler)[the leading lady was in the building during the time of the murder (hide spoiler)]. That was enough intrigue for me to squeeze in more reading time on a very packed day. xD
