Hi all,

Here is the selection thread for the next book. Standard rules apply:

Please make sure you give a sentence or two why you think we should read it together, not just a list of books you're planning on reading.

If a book is recommended that you also want to recommend, you can mention it again to add support. If there's a bunch of titles, I'll just pick the ones that seem to have the most interest in the poll, if there's just a few i"ll pull them all.

This is a new selection round, so if you want to suggest a book you've suggested before, put it here again to be considered, I won't be going back to past suggestion posts.

Happy reading everyone!

Megan | 244 comments I may have suggested this one before (or perhaps someone else did - I know I heard about Natalie Haynes from someone here)! But how about A Thousand Ships? I listened to Pandora's Jar recently and kept thinking the whole time that it would be a great one for this group, but we usually do novels here, so A Thousand Ships might be an easier read.

I just read Pandora's Jar a month or so ago, so it might have been me :). And there's nothing wrong with suggesting nonfiction either! We did do the Woman Who Wouldn't be Silenced a few books ago, although that was pretty dark and intense. For a while several years ago we actually did a big run of nonfiction to the point where I had to beg someone to please suggest a novel for at least a month.

Nothing wrong with changing things up!

I'm going to suggest The Lions of Al-Rassan again, because Guy Gavriel Kay is a genius and more people need to read his work :)

Hi, I got a message that someone was having trouble opening this thread so this is a test post. I was able to open it fine, I made it. there have been a few posts, so obviously SOME people have been able to open post. I haven't made a poll yet because there haven't been too many suggestions yet, was hoping a few last minute ones would trickle in, but now I'm concerned there were technical issues. Please message me either with suggestions, or letting me know if there are problems! I'll also make a new post, in case people can't see this either.

Kathy Klinich | 180 comments I'm going to recommend The Left-Handed Booksellers of London because I think a lot of people here will really enjoy it. "extended family of magical fighting booksellers who police the mythical Old World of England when it intrudes on the modern world."
