Hi Sydney! If you ever need help, just ask
So, are we ready to BEAT THE MEMBERS IN MODS VS. MEMBERS?
Just so y'all know, I won't be very active for the next few days because we're going on vacation and I will have no computer and spotty cell service. I'll still be as active as possible though!
Hey! I'm really sorry for being so inactive lately! My teachers are piling on the work leading up to finals. :/
Also, should I just make my own journal since I'm a mod? Or should I still officially request one?
You can make your own, but use the same format type. But yeah, mods can make their own... I suppose.
I think she might come back... let's wait...

While I am here I will also give a heads up; at the end of the week I am going overseas for almost 3 weeks so I have no idea what my online presence will be like. I apologize in advance.

Oh btw, I put up threads for the new BOTMs.
I saw-- thanks! Oh that's cool! I just realized how far apart our time zones are. I live on the east coast, so it's creeping towards 1am here :P
Hello Becca! So, I got a message from a member today. He is a beginning freelance writer and asked if we would possibly be interested in using his short stories for a group read. Here is the link he gave me: https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog...
Now, I haven't actually had a chance to look at the stories yet. I'll look at them as soon as I get back from karate, but I'd appreciate your input too. Assuming we like them, what do you think about doing some kind of a group read with them next month?

I guess my key concern would be what role the member/Alex. Tomov would have in the discussion. Will he be openly invited to chat about the book? Will we encourage members to keep any questions/responses between Tomov and readers as PMs?
Honestly, I don't think it should be an issue either way but perhaps something to clear up. I don't want someone making a critical review/comment and start a upsetting discussion in the middle.
Hmm. Well, he asked me to PM him back if we were interested, so I will do that tomorrow probably. I will ask his opinion, but I think all the members should discuss it on a thread like any other book we would read. It would be his choice whether or not he wanted to take part in the discussion. We also need to encourage all the members to write a review for the stories when they're finished, because I think that's what he was looking for.
I will definitely warn him that all responses may not be good though. And don't forget we can keep an eye on the thread and, honestly if things get out of hand, delete the non-review related argument posts and ask people nicely to calm down. If he's going to be a big writer though, Alex will have to get used to criticism.

Yes, that's what I'm hoping. I also added them pretty late in the month, so there hasn't been much time for everyone to think about it. Glad to have you back!

Oh wow don't worry about it. :) I actually just watched that San Andreas movie yesterday, so you couldn't pay me to go to California right this moment! *~*
Hi again Cassie! And Dani, whenever you get out of school :) Is there anything specific either of y'all would particularly like to be in charge of? BOTM, games, existing or new challenges, whatever - there's nothing that I'm really attached to.
Whatever you want us to, I'm familiar with most of those things
How are polls going? Many members voting?
How are polls going? Many members voting?
We haven't been running many polls lately. The most recent one has 35 votes on it. Older ones have mostly 15-25. Unfortunately, that is 15-35 out of 345 members. :/
