Karin | 9216 comments This is a fun series, and one of the things I like about it are the friendships--the ones already there and new ones that form. Plus, even though I'd never shelve it as romance, there is some of that in here as well. This is a fun book with a few twists (perhaps not everything to every reader, but rest assured there are some for virtually every reader. But there's more--there are some poignant things in here about people and aging. This one was the one I have enjoyed the most so far in this series but some the reasons for this are spoilers that have nothing to do with the ending.

It's been at least a week since I finished reading this and I have four others I've finished (not going to write all of the reviews today) so suffice it to say that I have pleasant memories of reading this and while I still remember almost all of it, I have less of a push to write a lot down (plus I'm in a review slump--first cousin to a reading slump???)

NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11067 comments I put the first book on my Subdue list, thinking it would be easy to get because it’s been out for so long, but I miscalculated. The waitlists for ebooks and audios are longer than some hot new books.

Is there a series or movie out or something like that?

I think you’re right about review and reading humps. I had them both last year when I was sick. Often I could focus when I was reading but it was really hard to string words together in sentences. It literally made my head hurt. Now it comes and goes. Lately I’ve only been writing reviews for book in the subdue challenge. I don’t have time to think about them first, so they’re not very good, but it takes the pressure off.

I don’t know if this one is going to be made into a film, but the first in this series is - Steven Spielberg is supposed to be directing the it.

Well that explains it! Thanks for letting me know. I'll ask my favorite librarian to put in a request to get more copies of the first book, which is the one I need. I was tempted to skip over it but I like starting at the beginning.
